Physicians Reference Laboratory is currently accepting applications for registered Histotechnologist. Full and part-time positions are available at our lab in Overland Park, KS.
Job Description
- Preparing specimens and tissues for pathologist review or for routing to appropriate laboratory.
- Ensuring the proper identification and handling of specimens.
- Embedding tissues in paraffin to facilitate sectioning.
- Sectioning paraffin embedded tissue samples on a rotary microtome.
- Staining tissue sections and checking staining microscopically to ensure quality.
Requirements
- HT (ASCP) or HLT (ASCP), or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of surgical and anatomic pathology procedures.
- Good working knowledge of instrument functions and troubleshooting.
- Organizational abilities, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize.
- Excellent communication skills.
