MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST
PRL has Clinical Laboratory Scientist full-time, part-time and PRN positions available in our laboratories within the Kansas City Metro area.
As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, per physicians' orders, and to provide quality patient care and services. Divisions of concentration include Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank and miscellaneous body fluid analysis.
Job Description
- Analyze and examine cells, body fluids and the chemical content of fluids
- Look for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms
- Analyze and match blood for transfusions
- Prepare specimens for examination, count cells, and look for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
- Use microscopes, cell counters, semen analyzers and other sophisticated laboratory equipment.
- Use laboratory information systems, automated equipment and computerized instruments capable of performing a number of tests simultaneously.
- After testing and examining a specimen, analyze the results and relay them to physicians.
- Maintains and follows infection and safety control procedures.
Requirements
- Registered Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP, AMT or NCA) - Required for consideration
- Have strong experience in chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, urinalysis and/or blood banking
- Detailed knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures
- Possess good organizational ability, time management skills, and priority setting ability
